I have always liked building things. Give me a problem, a pile of steel, and a little time, and I am happy. Hoffman Welding & Services started because I wanted to turn that into something useful for the people around me: build things that work, fix things that broke, and help out neighbors and the community while doing it.
Most of what comes through the shop is practical. Shop equipment, repairs, brackets, stands, and one-off pieces that solve a specific problem for someone. If you have an idea sketched on a napkin, that is usually enough to get started.
When I am not building for someone else, I am usually under a squarebody Chevy. I have a couple of the old Chevy pickups in progress that are being turned into welding rigs, so eventually the shop will show up at your place on four wheels.
This is a side business, and I like it that way. It means every project gets my full attention and I am not rushing through anything to make a quota. It also means I am the right fit for work that is not time critical. If you need it done right more than you need it done tomorrow, we will get along fine. If something is urgent, tell me and I will let you know honestly whether I can hit your timeline.
